Abstract | Full Text: The article describes the importance and scientific approaches to the essence of the environmentalcomponent of sustainable development of agricultural sphere of the region. The main environmental problems in the agri-food sphere of the Southern region are characterized. The nature, direction and characteristics of an ecologically balanced and sustainable development of the agri-food sphere of the region havebeen determined.
